You have somthig going here. I applause your ingenuity. However, if you includ the price to the machine it might not worth it. Furthermore don't forget about the time it took for the machine to switch disk. Your PC might be able to read through one DVD under 2s, but how long does it took for that machine to take the DVD -put it in storage -then pick a new DVD and place onthe read head. Afterall, that machine definitely doesn't have 400 read heads for its 400 DVD in it storage.

RE: GPU plot generator v4.1.1 (Win/Linux)
@xmagmax First I must say I'm not an expert, second different PC would have diffrent setting depend on devices it have.
Now that been said, to me your setting is a bit odd. Youe first value, which is 1, is the platform number that start from 0, 1 ,2 and so on. Normally it should be 0 because we only have 1 platform, at least mine is. The second value is the open GL device number, which also start from 0, 1 ,2 and so on. Open GL device would include all the CPU and GPU you have in your system, depend on the machine. You have to use bat file with "gpuPlotGenerator setup" command to check and decide which device you're going to use. gpuPlotGenerator setup command also tell you the rest value, but bare in mine these value are the potential max value your machine can handle. If, when plot and gpuPlotGenerator crash, you have to reduce these value (by haft).
In my case, I use RX480 8GB VRAM to plot. My setting values are 0 0 8096 32 4096 (my GPU is devidce 0, and my PC has 16 GB of RAM). I was able to plot 10TB Seagate int.HDD SATA3 in around 30Hrs, 8TB WD ext.HDD USB3 in around 26hrs, all in direct mode. But 8TB Seagate Backup plus HUB ext.HDD USB3 is an odd ball for me. Even with same setting, it took me over 5days to finish, don't know why.
So what I do to speed things up and reduce the chance of PC crash before finish plotting is to split in to smaller plot. I plot a 1GB plot onto a 1GB SSD then copy to the actual mining HDD, one at the time until finish the whole HDD.
Does Pool location affect DL confirmation rate?
I have a bit of question regarding pool server location and the DL confirmation while mining. I have tried mining in many pools (one at a time of cause). Each pool have diffrent DL confirmation rate, some confirmed almost every DL sent others fewer, but all have Netwotk quality 100%.
So I wonder, does pool l in geographic location play a role in DL confimation rate? like the one near where I mine would have better DL confimation, or some thing like that.
Also if any one could point me to a pool in South East Asia region (Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia..), I would be very appreciate. The only pool in Asia that I could find is in China, but I don't understand Chineses. So when there's any issue, I have quite a bit of language issue. Thanks
RE: Hey, can someone please give me coin? So I can start mining?
RE: Best value GPU for plotting
@FireRooster I think RX560 should be your better option, since A8-76xx have an IGP equivalent to R7 series GPU already. I did try to plot a 8GB Ext.HDD using my ASUS laptop which also have A8-7600 cpu. I tried by using CPU to plot first, no success. Then plot by GPU (using IGP), no success ether. The system always crash before it finish, even I'm in an A/C room (25 C) and my laptop is on a platform with 2 fans blowing from below.
Another issue I found is it take way to long. Even with the GPU, it took over 48hrs just to map the plots, didn't even begin to write the nonce yet.
RX560 with 2GB is quite plentyful and not expensive (PoW miners don't use anything with less than 4GB). It's powerful enough to plot faster and mine Burst faster than R7 240.
RE: I Can't change the address of my wallet...
@gordon3d if the link doesn't work that means yout local wallet is not running and/or your didn't login to your local wallet. Try to make it run and sync first.
If you you use only online wallet try replace "127.0.0.1:8125" with your online wallet address.
RE: What is your miner of choice and why?
I use both Blagos and Jminer, depending on what I'm also doing at the time.
If I'm also ploting, I would use Blagos Miner to mine so that my GPU is still avaliable for plotting (using gpuPlitGenerator 4.0.3). And since my CPU support AVX2, Blagos Miner V1.170603_avx2 will go through my drive to deliver DL fastest.
But when I'm not plotting, I prefer Jminer because it was able to read all my drives much faster.
My system is an AMD Ryzen 1800X with 16GB RAM running Windows10. My GPU is RX480 8GB.
