@eagle275 The pools HDminer was unstable for me, a lot of crashes. The proxy on the other hand has been rock solid while mining with Johnny's fork of Blago.

RE: How to simultaneously mine Burst and BTCHD
@eagle275 For mining (at least on HDPool) you need to run the pools proxy and point Scavenger to that, for scav, the setting in config.yaml would be:
If you're mining on a different PC than where the Proxy is running (not recommended) then change the IP address appropriately.
As for the mortgage, that is a "feature" of BHD itself, it works the same whether solo or pool mining. I would NEVER recommend anyone purchase BHD to cover the mortgage. Both pools offer a mortgage renting system that allows you to increase your earnings without having to actually own the mortgage. I always recommend using the rental system, never buy.
You can choose to hold your earnings on the pool to reduce the amount you need to reduce the amount you need to rent, but again, I'd be wary about holding too much there.
RE: How to simultaneously mine Burst and BTCHD
@eagle275 Assuming HDpool, and it's similar for Hpool - go to the hdpool.com website, sign up for an account. Make a note of your API key - will be displayed on the home page after you sign in. Download the HDMiner. Extract it, configure the miner.conf as you would a Blago config, adding in the APIkey, and the paths to your plot files. Start HDProxy.
You then need to bind your plot address to your mining account on the pool. You need to download and sync a copy of the wallet from https://btchd.org/en#wallet. Then in your wallet go into "Send". Change the bottom left dropdown to "Bind To", enter the address as 33NZ7dPrUZALy2LkRjQEe1WhMKGZyTaHtc then put your Burst passphrase in the next field, then hit the "Generate Binding Data" button. Copy the confirmation, then paste it into the pool "home" page while logged in
Finally make a copy of your Burst miner folder, edit the config to point to localhost:60100, and in your miner config, make sure that you have "POC2StartBlock":0 - and start the miner, you should be working.
RE: dev Fund Payouts.
@haitch With the PoCC and a new team of developers and marketers picking up the coin, just a reminder that donations for the Dev Fund can still be sent to: BURST-R7JQ-28SG-RJPJ-FNGKG
These will be paid out at my discretion to devs and others that are doing great work in advancing Burst.
RE: Please don't mine on the CryptoGuru (PoCC) Pools

RE: New H's Assets.
I'm moving funds over to the asset account for the payout. As I said, most of the payout is coming from my personal wallet, and my own holding of the asset are not receiving a dividend. The asset earnings have basically been pathetic. All the other assets it holds have basically shutdown/stopped paying.
I don't know when the asset will payout again, but I hope my investors appreciate this payout.

Please don't mine on the CryptoGuru (PoCC) Pools
The CG/PoCC pools have recently been running a "test" where they are utilizing pool miners equipment to multi mine Burst and BHD - another PoC coin. Although this could potentially have been a good thing, there are a number of problems with it:
- This will become opt-out, it's currently compulsory - if you mine on the PoCC pools, your miners and plots are being used for this. Rico of the PoCC has said it will become opt-out, but with 1,700 miners most of which are not engaged in the Burst community, they won't be aware of the requirement to opt-out. This should be opt-in only.
The proceeds of the dual mining are not being paid to miners, so the PoCC pools are co-opting miners equipment but not compensating them for using it. Rico has said the mining proceeds will be used for Burst projects, eg a 150,000 Burst donation to the BMF (Burst Marketing Fund). Note however that this 150,000 Burst at current prices is about US$788. Based on my own experience mining BHD, with the capacity the PoCC control they are in a position to be earning in excess of US$100,000/month. Let that sink in.
This dual mining is not for the benefit of the pool miners, instead the scheme has two specific goals:
i) Prevent PoCC pool miners to effectively mine BHD with their own equipment if they choose to.
ii) Attack and attempt to destroy another PoC coin.
In my opinion, what the PoCC is doing has the potential to destroy Burst as a coin - I'm told that there are investors and companies that were interested in Burst walking away because they can not accept the actions of the Developers.
Other miners that I know have walked away from Burst in disgust, and I'm also considering it. If I do, the Burst services I currently run will remain for those that utilize them.
If you're not okay with what is being done, join Reddit, join Discord, make you voice heard.
Just remember, friends don't let friends mine on CryptoGuru pools.
Update 12/28 Been out of town for a days, so this update was a little late coming. The PoCC are now calling their scheme "opt-in", which to anyone who is not a member of the PoCC or a Rico acolyte is an obvious lie. To "opt-in" you have to download the latest version of Scavenger 1.6.8 and reconfigure it for dual mining, as by default it will not. Opt-in right? Except - you're also "opt'd-in" if you use ANY other miner. Currently of the 6,237 miners registered to the PoCC pools, a grand total of 38 are running the required version of Scavenger to be able to opt-in/out, the other 6,199 are mandatorily "opt'd-in", with the vast majority totally unaware of it.
None of the opt'd-in miners, voluntarily or not, earn anything for their participation, but for many of those involuntarily miners - they're not even earning anything for Rico. Unless the mining software (Blago specifically) is configured correctly, the miner will submit invalid deadlines to the pool. So the "dual-mining" doubles miners costs, while mining invalid data that earns no-one any money, and just cost the miners in higher running costs.
Self contained miner.
Anyone looking for a nice little self contained miner or NAS, HPe has the Gen10 Microserver on sale for $175.
Dual core Amd Athlon, 8GB RAM, onboard iGPU, networking, USB expansion, two free PCIe slots.
I've ordered one to take a look at.
RE: Is it possible to resume a partial XPlotter plot with Turboplotter instead?
@tedrogers No, both Xplotter and TurboPlotter can resume interrupted plots, but only their own, not each others.
RE: Plot numbers on different machines / rigs?
@tedrogers Yep, basically the nonce values are derived from the account ID & Nonce # - For any given Account ID, Nonce X will always have the same value - without this submitted DLs could not be verified. The nonce values are computed, not random.
RE: Plot numbers on different machines / rigs?
@tedrogers No. For any given account, nonces 0 to 15258789 will be identical on every machine. You either need to use separate accounts, or ensure the plots don't overlap.
think of them as lottery tickets. In your left hand you have tickets 1 - 10, in your right hand you also have tickets 1 - 10. They're both holding the same tickets.
RE: Reward Recipient - only 1 active at a time per account?
@tedrogers You can only be assigned to one reward recipient address at any given time.
