What would a Burstcoin 2.0 would look like ?
-
Hi,
Burstcoin is kinda old in crypto world. I am surprise to see that's it's the only Proof Of Space crypto here (sia, maid, stoj are proof of storage).
I read the Spacemint whitepaper (https://eprint.iacr.org/2015/528.pdf), they propose solutions to improve some issues with Burstcoin.
So I wanted to ask you:
Why do you think there is no other POS coin out (with faster transactions for example)?
What would you guys implement in a new Burstcoin ?

@tyvain Already being worked on : https://dymaxion.burst.cryptoguru.org/The-Burst-Dymaxion-1.00.pdf

@haitch wow, didn't know about that. Just read the intro so far but that's exactly what I was looking for (or wondering: a modern POC coin
I go back to reading...

@haitch Woaw, I didnt know there is so much planned for Burst. I mean I knew there is still development behind all of this but from what I have read with how many transactions are possible with the planned implementation (if it is one, I couldnt really understand what it is, but it sounds awesome haha). I was thinking of selling a certain percentage of my burst to invest in a mining rig but all of my coins will stay right where they are. i really think Burst could be the thing we will pay our stuff with in the future. Technology-Wise its on the top, I mean when you compare btc to burst you can see how markets today are just mass psychology.

@haitch I have read the white paper: very interesting, still trying to understand everything (especially the technical parts).
It goes way further that I would imagine a Burst 2.0 could be, in a very awesome way (iota style).
But it also opens so many questions...
- Do you plan to open a forum dedicated to this project, where we can discuss it?
- Is there some poc development on github ?
- What is your expectations with this white paper: launch an ICO ? being contact by business angels ? Gather volonteer developers from all around the world ?
Anyway, great stuff. I think I speak for everyone here: we are interested in this and want to follow the advancement of this project.

@tyvain There's a developers secion here on the forum, but I don't know if the PoCC people are signed up here, most of the discussion seems to happen over on Discord.
Their new 1.3.6cg Wallet is on GitHub, not sure what else is.
-
@haitch That was a typo on the wallet version, right? Current version that everyone should be running is 1.3.6cg. Future versions of this branch of the wallet is the one that will support PoC2 and PoC3.
Can't wait for PoC3!
-
@pclausen Yep, typo - corrected.
-
@haitch Any chance for a link to that Discord?
